Latin for Honey Media

Hi Folks!

As an artist and writer by trade and training, in the span of my 20ish year career, I have seen the traditional PR structure for artists, namely comprehensive gallery representation, basically evaporate. These days, unfortunately, PR responsibilities commonly fall to the artists themselves. Besides funding, creating, storing and shipping their work, they are expected to write statements, summaries, bios, press releases, and more. Often times, artists don't have the time, skills, or inclination for these tasks, considering many (most?) have another job (or jobs). At the same time, the imagery in much of the mainstream media has become arbitrary and obtuse with the overuse of stock images and choices made by machine algorithms.

So, 2021 brings a new initiative for me... introducing Latin for Honey Media! I will be writing press releases (and more) for artists and doing my absolute damnedest to promote their work to mainstream media outlets - hopefully solving two problems at once! 1) Connecting professional artists to a wider audience. 2) Providing media outlets with complex visual commentary which powerfully conveys their message and connects with their audience.

It goes without saying that straight white cis men are the least affected by the various hardships plaguing the world's population, so I will be prioritizing everyone but them for now.

If you're an artist, editor or have some PR tips for me, please reach out at media.latinforhoney@gmail.com

Until then, cheers to new chapters in 2021, whatever it is you're up to! And please, remember to pay for your art, culture and journalism in 2021 - xoxoxoxox
